Health and safety scam

Businesses in Lancashire could be scammed out of up to £249 by a bogus health and safety firm. Hundreds of UK Businesses have complained after receiving letters asking for payment for registration or compliance packs from organisations calling themselves either HSRED - Health and Safety Registration Enforcement Division or Health and Safety Enforcement Agency or the Health and Safety Compliance Agency.

None of the organisations currently targeting local businesses are linked to the Health and Safety Executive. The HSE sells its own business information packs for £30 and also advise on registration which if needed is free via the HSA for manufacturer/processes or local district councils for shops hotels etc.

Any bogus letters should either be ignored or passed for information to:
